Constructed in 1914 by noted architect Dietrich Rulfs, the Zion Hill Church is an important landmark in Nacogdoches history. With the church in serious need of repair, CoxJones was chosen by the Nacogdoches County Historical Foundation to complete complex structural repairs and preliminary restoration work. In addition to the Foundation, we also worked closely with the Texas Historical Commission on this project. Funding was provided by the Foundation and by the Texas Preservation Trust Fund grant program. This effort also required compliance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards.
